It’s been raining like crazy for the last two days. I don’t recall seeing a weather alert like this before:<\/p>\n

\nThe National Weather Service in Denver has issued a<\/p>\n

* Flash Flood Warning for…
\nnorthwestern Jefferson County in northeast Colorado…
\nBoulder County in northeast Colorado…<\/p>\n

* until 1245 am MDT<\/p>\n

* at 945 PM MDT… local law enforcement reported a continuation of
\nflash flooding in Boulder County… with numerous Road closures and
\nstalled vehicles due to flooding. Up to 3.5 inches of rain has
\nalready fallen in southeast Boulder… with widespread rainfall of
\n1.5 to 2.5 inches over the rest of the warned area. Another one to
\nas much as 2 inches of rain can be expected in some locations
\nbefore decreasing.<\/p>\n

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
\nnorthwestern Arvada… Boulder… northern Broomfield… Lafayette…
\nLouisville… Erie… Lyons… Jamestown… Salina… Eldorado
\nSprings… Crisman… Gold
\nHill… Niwot… Summerville… Wallstreet… Rocky
\nFlats… Raymond… sunshine… white ranch open space and Allenspark.<\/p>\n

Precautionary\/preparedness actions…<\/p>\n

This is a life threatening situation. Heavy rainfall will cause
\nextensive and severe flash flooding of creeks… streams… and ditches
\nin the Fourmile burn area. Some drainage basins impacted include
\nFourmile creek… Gold Run… and Fourmile Canyon creek. Severe debris
\nflows can also be anticipated across roads. Roads and driveways may
\nbe washed away in places. If you encounter flood waters… climb to
\nsafety.<\/p>\n

Outside of the Fourmile burn scar… excessive runoff from heavy
\nrainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams… highways
\nand underpasses. Additionally… country roads and farmlands along
\nthe banks of creeks… streams and other low lying areas are subject
\nto flooding.<\/p>\n

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
\ndangers of flooding. Turn around… dont drown.<\/p><\/div>\n
