It’s probably obvious by now that my attention has been drawn away from this blog. Much to my surprise we’ve been home for two weeks now; honestly it feels more like a week. Between the various demands of getting back into the swing with both businesses and with the unusual circumstances of Tracie’s mother residing here (still) because of her health problems, I just haven’t had the time, energy, and\/or inclination to blog much. At this point I’m going to stop berating myself, gracefully acknowledge the reality of the situation, and try to bring the accounts of our Japan adventures to a close today.<\/p>\n

Tracie has waded through the ~2000 photos I took and picked out the best ones, grouped by city. I’m in the process of uploading them to my photo gallery; I’ll post a note and a link when they’re all available.<\/p>\n

The favor I mentioned was bestowed upon us by the proprietress of a little restaurant in Tokyo. I don’t know the name of the place or the name of the street it’s on, but here’s her business card: <\/p>\n

It’s in Asakusa, on the narrow street that runs behind the amusement park near the Senso-ji temple. One end of the street meets a much larger street; it meets it directly across from the Asakusa View hotel. There’s also a pachinko parlor and what we think is an adult movie theatre on the same street. If you’re in the neighborhood and are looking for a nice bowl of soba<\/em>, stop in and tell Akiko-san that the American tourists said to say hi and thank you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
