Buy My Keyboard!

I’ve got a nice little MIDI keyboard/audio interface up for sale on eBay. Please, someone take this off my hands and give it a new home. It’s in great shape; the only reason I’m selling it is that I decided I needed a 4-octave keyboard to sit in front of my computer.

I used this keyboard for testing the MIDI controller feature of all of Audio Damage’s VST plug-ins, so hey, if you’re an Audio Damage fan, this keyboard has extra mojo. 🙂

I’m Not the Only Developer That Hates AudioUnits

There’s an interesting post here from a fellow plug-in developer who thinks about as highly as I do of AudioUnits. Actually I suppose it’s overstating the point to say that this fellow hates AudioUnits. He just spent three months trying to write the silly things and ended up with no usable results and the opinion that Apple’s support for developers of AudioUnits, and the code they provide for developing AudioUnits, is so half-assed that there’s no business sense in continuing the attempt to write AudioUnits. read more

Announcing Ricochet

I’m pleased to announce that Audio Damage has just released our latest product. Ricochet is a multi-tap delay plug-in with an unusual architecture and a far more direct user interface than most multi-delay plug-ins. That’s a rather brief synopsis, of course; you can read more about it, listen to sound samples, download the manual, and buy it at the Audio Damage website.

Praise for Fluid, Liquid and Vapor from Computer Music

Once again, Audio Damage products have garnered praise from those nice folks at Computer Music. The new issue just arrived in my mailbox today; it contains a two-page spread reviewing Audio Damage’s three most recent products en masse. The review concludes with an overall score of 9/10 and this verdict:

Each of these plug-ins offers something unique, and while they’re not quite groundbreaking enough for top marks, they’re essential buys nonetheless.

Thanks, CM!

You can trot over to the Audio Damage website and get ’em yourself. read more

Praise for Dr. Device in Computer Music

The December issue of Computer Music magazine has an almost embarassingly glowing review of Dr. Device. They gave it a full 10/10 score and all three of their CM badge awards for Performance, Value for Money, and Innovation.

Thanks, CM!

Audio Damage Releases Vapor

I’m pleased to announce that there will not be any more Audio Damage product announcements with silly headlines, at least for the next several products. I’m more pleased to announce (belatedly) that we’ve released our third and final (for now) low-cost modulation effect plug-in. It’s called Vapor; it’s a diffusion chorus. A diffusion chorus is a sort of a cross between a reverb and a chorus. It’s probably easier for you to listen to some demo recordings than it is for me to describe it. You can read more about it, hear those demos, and buy it here. read more

Celebrity Audio Damage Customer Photo

[I’ve been meaning to post this for awhile but forgot several times.] Generally we don’t talk about our customers even though it would probably help our sales if we could name some of the Famous People who have purchased Audio Damage products. We consider their transactions with us to be private. Recently, though, we received photos and a nice note from Jon Burton. Jon does live sound for The Prodigy, a rather famous and successful electronica band. Jon’s message ended with an invitation to show off the photos, so Chris did just that on his blog here. Thanks, Jon! read more

Audio Damage Releases Fluid

Yes, another goofy title; but yes, another new Audio Damage product. This one’s called Fluid. It’s a chorus plug-in for creating those larger-than-life stereo effects. Chorus plug-ins are usually rather anemic and dull-sounding, but this one is something special (if I may say so myself). Read about it, see a screen shot, hear audio demos and buy at its product page here on the Audio Damage site.

Audio Damage Releases Liquid

Yeah, that’s a goofy title, but it’s true: the latest Audio Damage product, available today, is called Liquid. It’s a flanger plug-in with true through-zero flanging that recreates the lush tape-deck-based flanging effects of yesteryear. Read about it, hear some demo clips, and buy it from the Audio Damage website.

I Love Our Customers

I’ve gotta love it when a customer is so enthusiastic about Audio Damage products that they take the time to show off our stuff for us. Here’s one such example. (The Matrixsynth site is a fine blog, BTW.)
